Why you should join

Wasatch Backcountry Alliance works with elected officials, government agencies, land managers and businesses on access issues, transportation solutions, and more. Your support will help ensure our community has a seat at the table for important decisions –both short term and long range-  that shape the mountains we love and how we interact with them.

Current Projects

  • Install and collect usage data through our winter Trail Counting Program
  • Promote grassroots public transportation solutions through our Backcountry Shuttle
  • Advocate for parking options for backcountry users
  • Engage in meetings with mayors, resort managers, the Forest Service, congressional & local representatives
  • Play an active role in the UDOT Little Cottonwood Canyon EIS process and efforts to prevent the gondola 
  • Work to protect public access in Cardiff Fork 
  • Maintain community outreach and education through social media, our website blog, email newsletters, and The Uptrack podcast.
